Different Forms Of Leg Spin Bowling

        Leg Spin is the most difficult form of leg spin bowling.The normal variety is the normal leg break.But there are several other varieties as well.We will get to them and discuss them in details below.

1.Leg Break

           Leg break is the patent delivery of a leg spinner.This is the one that most leg spinners rely upon, and this is the one that will get you the most number of wickets.

          A leg break delivery usually pitches between leg and middle stump or pitches on leg or middle or pitches outside the leg stump and turns sharply towards the off stump.

2.Top Spinner

      A top spinner is a delivery which doesn't spin ,it continues with its line and a bounces a little more than normal.

         The bounce can especially baffle a batsman and can lead to an edge or even a LBW(leg before wicket).

3.Googly

       Googly is basically the "off spin of a leg spinner".This delivery spins in the opposite direction,i.e. it spins from the off stump towards middle or leg stump.

           This delivery must be used carefully,because it should be used as a surprise delivery.Moreover practicing it more than required can result in "Googly Syndrome".

4.Flipper

         Flipper is simply a quicker delivery in cricketing terms.It is completely different from normal leg break where as the leg break bowling is much slower than Flipper i.e Leg break bowling speed normally ranges from  70 to 95 kmph where as the Flipper ranges from 95 to 110 kmph.

5.Skidder

         Skidder is another name for a flipper.As the name suggests,this delivery skids i.e. it doesn't turn much.Thus it is similar to the flipper since this delivery is also quick and is directed straight towars the wickets,which can give rise to a LBW.

6.Slider

          Slider is also known as back spinner which is one of the most common important variations in leg spin bowling.

It is a kind of delivery which holds its line, skids after hitting the pitch; you can say it as a little bit flat delivery which doesn’t flight much in the air infact just will be thrown from front of the hand.
